Kimberly Watson

Director of Development and Programs

Kimberly has been fueling Fast Lane’s imagination factory (also known as the Content Development team) as the Director of Development and Programs for over five years. Adept at extracting brilliant ideas from sticky notes and chicken-scratched cocktail napkins, the Fast Lane Development and Programs teams under her guidance create magic and generate results for clients with a wide variety of training needs.

Kimberly has been pushing boundaries in the technical training industry for over 20 years. After far too many years in school culminating with a PhD in Computer Science, she ran her own consulting company prior to joining the Fast Lane squad, creating software and training programs for many Fortune 100 clients, the country of Bermuda, and others. She has an über-geek background in programming, databases, practical and theoretical instructional design, and project/program management.

Kimberly holds the Computer Science PhD, a supporting master’s degree in IT, and an MA in Nautical Archaeology (because why not). She loves to travel with her husband and has managed to invade 4 out of the 7 continents to date with zero casualties. She enjoys challenges and helping clients work through particularly knotty ones. Kimberly also likes to code in her spare time, but don’t tell anyone.

My Technology Perspective:

Kimberly has been programming and database-ing since the days (and nights) of Skittles and Jolt Cola. After years helming her own business developing technical software, her focus shifted to technical training and content development to help learners quickly adapt to an increasingly digital world. Her deep technical strengths are Java, C++, and PL/SQL, and she has extensive and robust experience leading global creative and development teams as Fast Lane’s Director of Development and Programs. She no longer enjoys Skittles, however.

Why are all the horses in the barn?

Rob Batten

Why are all the horses in the barn? I use this phrase often when working with sales management during transformational engagements.
