David is an economist from his education, a Product Manager from over 10 years of experience and a business owner and executive from over 13 years of experience.  Overall David has 23 years of business-to-business services, consulting, coaching and training industry experience in roles from operations, service delivery, marketing, product management and executive management.  Just recently he successfully sold his business-to-business training firm having taken it from $1.2m in 2005 to $13m by 2012.

He has delivered over 200 presentations (face-to-face or web seminars) to over 15,000 professional and he has been the product manager or executive sponsor in the design, development and go to market strategy on over 350 training courses.  He has an impressive portfolio of goal-driven successes identifying market opportunities in the training sector and responding with training product development initiatives. Services developed by his firms have addressed skills gaps in a range of industries, including: the software development life cycle, many IT topics, professional skills, telecommunications, finance, healthcare IT and marketing. 

My Technology Perspective: 

In his early career David had experience working around WAN solutions and services including DSL, Frame Relay and ATM.  On top of the experience David did presentations, product management and marketing on Voice over IP. VoIP become David’s primary expertise and he spent a great deal of time on supporting professionals as they dealt with the ever changing standards and solutions in that space including Computer Telephony Integration issues, H.248 and H.323 (SIP).

Within the last ten years David has spent most of his time in and around the processes of driving software development, the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle).  Since 2006 he has been heavily involved in the Agile Methods community driving conferences, services and training.  Along with David’s work in Agile he also spent a great deal of time supporting the growth of the Business Analyst position and consults with corporate IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) and also supporting the pivot of the Project Management position.  He has presented on Agile, Business Analysis and Project Management topics well over 100 times to over 10,000 professionals. 

With David’s move to DTI, he now works with the team to position IoT and Digital transformation (DX) around the business outcomes and use cases that are available with these technologies.  He supports the marketing and sales of DTI solutions and supporst the development of solutions for our customers around sales and go to market enablement.

David’s primary technical expertise lies in his unique ability to understand the business drivers, business outcomes and business value that underscore the need for technology which help professionals achieve competitive advantage. He also specializes in topics focusing on the alignment of business needs and technology resources, and building training solutions around it.
